Cooper
Ridge Nurseries, Inc. is a family-owned and operated
wholesale business producing finished stock for over 75 years. Al
Harrington (president) is shown at right surveying the evergreen
cuttings in one of our greenhouses. The business was started by
Al's father, and now involves Al's son and grandson in the
operation.
Approximately
150 varieties of evergreen, broadleaf evergreen and flowering
shrubs are grown in containers on 30 acres. Field
grown Taxus and Arbor Vitae are raised on 50 acres, and are dug
fresh and sold balled and burlaped.
Two thirds of our plant
varieties are started as rooted cuttings in our own greenhouses
with the remainder bought in as liners for growing on as finished
stock.
